BREATHWORK FOR EXPANDING CAPACITY

Breathwork is a practice for living a bigger life. When we go to the mat in any practice we go to meet ourselves, to hear truths that live only in our bodies not our minds, and we go there to expand our capacity so that in life we are able to meet what comes our way and step into our lives more fully. This active breath pattern is fast and efficient and it asks of us to feel what we may be avoiding, to hold both the loud and quiet parts of ourselves, to be revealed, seen, heard and known. The invitation in this group is to meet each breath with care, curiosity and compassion, it is from there that expansion is possible.

Breathwork is an active meditation that by occupying the mind creates space for the body to release somatic holding, to experience emotion that might not be available at the surface and to access intuition and insight. This is your practice and I encourage everyone to breathe at a pace that feels right for you and to use this practice as a container of self holding, self listening and self care. Breathwork can be helpful if you have been feeling stuck in any area of your life, it is a powerful and practical tool to work with your own energy, a bridge out of the critical mind and into deeper resources available to all of us. After Breathwork sessions people usually leave saying they feel energized and lighter, however this is an active practice that brings up emotions and can bring up memories, if you are unsure if this practice is appropriate for you may want to check in with your doctor or therapist first and you are always welcome to reach out to me with further questions.

This practice is done lying down, create a comfortable safe space for yourself. An eye pillow and palm stones can offer support and allow for deeper journeying, but are not essential.
