AUTUMN BREATHWORK FOR GRIEF & LETTING GO

Autumn is governed by the lungs, the emotion of grief and the practice of letting go. In this group we will work with the breath as the physical embodiment of letting go, the inhale and exhale as an exploration of where we’re gripping, where we can let go a little more and where we’re holding grief. You don’t have to be going through a period of loss or grief to benefit from this practice, as we are always in a practice with letting go be they big or small experiences. Autumn offers us this container to touch in on what we’ve had to let go of in the past and where we are in this moment. Just saying goodbye to summer is itself a little grief to breathe through.

Breathwork is an active meditation that by occupying the mind creates space for the body to release somatic holding, to experience emotion that might not be available at the surface and to access intuition and insight. This is your practice and I encourage everyone to breathe at a pace that feels right for you and to use this practice as a container of self holding, self listening and self care. Breathwork is a powerful and practical tool to work with your own energy, a bridge out of the critical mind and into deeper resources available to all of us. After Breathwork sessions people usually leave saying they feel energized and lighter, however this is an active practice that brings up emotions and can bring up memories, if you are unsure if this practice is appropriate for you may want to check in with your doctor or therapist first and you are always welcome to reach out to me with further questions.

This practice is done lying down, create a comfortable safe space for yourself. An eye pillow and palm stones can offer support and allow for deeper journeying, but are not essential.

  • This is a virtual group, a link will be sent out on the day of the group and a recording will be sent out to all afterwards in case you can’t make the live call. Recordings are good for 1 weeks after the group.
