Winter is the season to go within and witness the reflections of ourselves. We will begin the workshop with an active breathing technique for release and to make the journey from head to heart. After shedding, exploring and revealing you will lie in the sweetness of shavasana while the sound bath creates space for gentle integration, perhaps revelations and definitely deep parasympathetic rest. Come dressed for cozy inner exploration, dress comfortably, an eye pillow and palm stones are wonderful companions when journeying.
A sound bath is another form of meditation where your brain may attach to the sounds created by the various instruments to help quiet the mind and find deeper states of rest. Similar to a mantra based meditation where your focus is on the repetition of the mantra, in a sound bath your focus moves to the vibrations and sounds from the instruments and helps release activity from the mind. It is thought that the vibrations from the instruments can help support your brainwaves move into theta or delta states.
Breathwork is an active meditation that by occupying the mind creates space for the body to heal physically, emotionally and spiritually. This is a practice that can aid in letting go of old narratives, traumas and fears as well as connecting you to clarity, inspiration and a greater sense of embodiment. If you have been feeling stuck in any area of your life, having difficulty allowing love in, moving past an old wound, I invite you to try this practice. As an active practice it can bring up emotions, but know that the body won't bring up anything it isn't ready to heal and the energy of the group will hold and support you. After Breathwork sessions people usually leave saying they feel energized and lighter.
